So this might seem like a joke post but it's not. I recently received an email from a friend of mine in Toronto who saw the film and met the filmmaker. She is forwarding around a string of emails promoting support for the film's opening weekend in NYC. The film is about a man emerging from the slums of Rio to lead the nonviolent cultural movement known as Afro-reggae.
It is showing at Village East Cinemas Starting Friday: 11:15, 1:15, 3:15, 5:20, 7:20, 9:30
And there is a Director Q & A: Friday & Saturday at 7:20 pm, Sunday at 1:15 & 3:15 pm.
Saying hey,
This is Jack Kodiak

Funny Jack. I did come to America from Rio in 94 but not from a favela though we lived near one. And I hate reggae. Always pushing my buttons...
Grow up. It's supposed to be a very powerful movie. And even if I was attempting to push your buttons by posting this (which I'm not!) what's so wrong with that?
It's okay for you to post photographs of James & Joe and ridicule them, but you are above ridicule?
When you come back to reality give me a shout, otherwise shut your stupid mouth.
Holding the button down,
This is Jack Kodiak
P.S.
Hate is a powerful world, use it with discretion please.
lighten up dude.
Oh I guess Joe is recommending this film too. Cool!
Thanks for backing me up Bree, just so you know that friend of mine is fellow Canadian Laura Adamo.
Hmmm I don't know why that comment showed up as anonymous. I signed it.
Anyway,
That was, and this Jack Kodiak
