BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
an interview my Matt Ferrin

I met up with Bree in a small coffee shop in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood. After the morning crowd cleared out we were left virtually alone to sit calmly and have a chat.

MF: When you went in to get your first tattoo, what was the experience like?

Bree: It was a place called Anarchy Ink.

MF: Where was that?

Bree: Vancouver's gritty Granville St. (at least it was back then). The guy seemed so nervous about touching my breast that I was afraid that he'd draw all over me.

MF: (laughter) Interesting. How much later did you get your second tattoo?

Bree:
(counting on her fingers) Three months.

MF: That quick?

Bree: Yes. But it was in two parts and before I could go back to get it touched up the tattoo artist was arrested for indecent exposure to a client.

MF: This was the pawprints on your back? I guess it's better that he didn't end up doing your first tattoo.

Bree:
(laughter)Yeah.

MF:
And the last tattoo, what inspired getting a jellyfish?

Bree:
Honestly, I thought it would look cool. But, the super talented Scott Campbell made it amazing.

MF:
I agree. Well, thank you for the interview.

Bree: Fuck off!
